Please note: 1920 x 1080 movie recording requires a Class 4 or higher memory card. For other recording formats, a Class 2 or higher card is recommended. Also, movie recording requires cards with 128 MB of memory or more. Cards made by Toshiba, SanDisk or Matsushita are recommended. No particular restrictions apply for still images.

Video stored on the internal memory can also be copied onto the memory card which can then be inserted into your computer or HDTV's card reader slot for immediate viewing. It is also possible to transfer still images recorded to the SDHC card to the internal memory.
You can also use higher capacity memory cards to further increase the video storage of your VIXIA HF10.

Auto Exposure Modes Like any good digital still camera, the VIXIA HF10 lets you choose from a range of exposure modes. Auto mode automatically sets the exposure, letting you concentrate on your subject. AV (aperture priority) mode lets you control depth of field by letting you choose the aperture. TV (shutter priority) mode lets you select the shutter speed for sharp, action shots. In P (program) mode, the camcorder adjusts camera settings automatically.

Between, i have to buy BP-827 battery for sure.. This only comes for 90 mins. But for now i am fine with 90 mins battery and 16 GB internal memory.
Later i will buy a 32 GB SD Card (when it comes) and BP-827
Great Camera
I am definitely an amateur, but wanted to get a good, high definition camcorder at a reasonable price, and this Canon certainly fits the bill. I am pleased with how well it works in daylight, and surprised at how well the picture comes through with less than perfect light, even when saved to an HD-level output ratio. With the flash memory, it starts filming very quickly, especially when compared to older, MiniDV-based camcorders, and even quicker than hard drive camcorders since there are fewer moving parts.
Some say the internal memory isn't worth it, but I beg to differ, at the time I bought the camcorder, the price difference was $40 between the HF10 (16gb internal) and the HF100 (no internal memory), but the ease with which you can expand the memory on the HF10 is definitely worth it. With the HF10, you can set the camcorder to record your videos to the memory card and still pictures to the internal if you prefer, or you can set it the other way around, or save them all to either. Very handy, especially if you have a small card and you just want to put pictures on. Personally, I bought a 16gb card to put in, and with the Class 6 speed, it writes the video great.
Battery life is acceptable, but not long, a second battery is definitely recommended. A saving grace to that though is that charging times are pretty short, less than 2 hours from dead.
Overall, this is a very good camcorder at a great price, and the HD picture shows up great on TVs, especially when used with the component cables or an HDMI cable, I just wish the HDMI cable was included.
Cannon HF-100
Great camera. Easy to use, yet has many options if you want them. Turns on and begins taping very fast. Great picture. No problems with battery life, yet...
The camera did seem to not realize you had changed modes from viewing video to shooting video very quickly.
I have already recommended this camera to a friend. It's very small and easy to take with you.
